Hello! Yesterday while relocating my PC for extra desk space, it tipped slightly and hit the wall. It froze completely, though it seemed okay after a restart. Then I noticed a bright orange light on the motherboard and discovered one or more RAM slots weren’t working. Did this minor bump damage my motherboard? It’s an ASUS B150 Plus.

It seems something might have dislodged. Inspect every cable and verify that all RAM modules are firmly installed, along with the graphics card. This is probably the main issue because of its size. Also, don’t just mention the motherboard—provide all the specifications!

Sorry! I have checked re-seating all the RAM modules and testing the slots, but one is faulty. It doesn<|pad|> to recognize the RAM when inserted, though the PC still boots and appears functional. There’s an orange light and a defective slot remaining.

You checked by moving sticks into different slots to confirm the problem lies with the slot, not the RAM stick.

I confirmed it, using the incorrect slot indicates 8 GB of RAM, but changing the stick to another slot shows 16 GB.
