Thanks a lot everyone! I just got the free version of Malwarebytes and it’s already spotted 4 threats. I’m about halfway through.

I've experienced success with adwremover, but I wouldn't rely on it for removing anything other than ads.

Your issue appears to be resolved. I also come across the Taplika virus. It looks like Malwarebytes is an effective solution for handling such computer viruses. If it helps, I’ll try it out. I searched online and found several guides on eliminating Taplika. For instance, I followed the instructions in this article and removed an unknown extension from my Chrome browser, but the problem persisted after rebooting Windows.
