Hey everyone, recently I was exploring a dumpster and stumbled upon an old eMac. When I got back home, I found a power cable and plugged it in. It had a password displayed on the screen. I’m trying to get past the password using recovery mode and terminal, but everything seems stuck. In normal login, it just shows the regular screen. Pressing command S to open terminal instead of typing "root" brings up sh-2.05a#, which keeps failing. I’ve partitioned my hard drive and installed macOS Tiger, but I can’t back up my data because my internet won’t let me do that. I’m really hoping someone can help me bypass the password now that I changed it. Please share any tips or solutions you have!

I understand this subject is well-known, but I don’t have a physical installation disc available.
