Elgato Corsair
Elgato Corsair
I purchased the newest Elgato device on Amazon a few days ago. The external capture card 4K60 S+ hasn't worked yet. I'm still contacting Elgato Tech Support, moving from basic to senior support, and now leading a development team. Emails are slow, often taking days for replies! They claimed my TV isn't compatible with 4K, though it actually is. They also told me a bunch of confusing things to prevent an RMA for my Elgato, which is frustrating. This has been a long troubleshooting process—two months of effort! It was a $399 investment, but I just want to record my games and share them with friends. Please help me fix this issue, Elgato/Corzair!
If your return window is still open, I suggest sending the item back only if their support team proves as supportive as you say. If not, we'll require additional information to figure out the issue.
4K refers not only to pixel density but also to refresh speed. My Sceptre U55M has a 3840x2160 display, but its advertised refresh rate is 120hz. This appears to be a simulation for image stabilization, while the real native rate is 60hz. That might explain some issues. It seems the manufacturer likely went to great lengths to ensure the product functioned beyond the standard return period, possibly expecting a faster resolution than what was actually delivered. I’ve noticed many reviews mentioning compatibility problems. Whether it’s due to user mistakes or inherent product flaws, I can’t confirm. What matters is that today’s devices often have settings that don’t always align with expectations. Still, I believe OP should have contacted the seller for a refund before the thirty-day deadline, since further action would likely require working with the manufacturer.
