Increasing your RAM to 16 gigabytes could improve performance. If you experience a significant amount of hard drive activity while gaming, particularly when your CPU hits 100%, you might be experiencing problems with excessive caching due to insufficient 8 gigabytes of memory. This causes the processor to work harder and can lead to frame rate drops. I often notice this issue with Fortnite, specifically when transitioning between locations and numerous textures and objects are being loaded – it would frequently reach 100% HDD usage. A system cleanup somewhat resolved this, though it still occasionally rises to 70-80%, which then causes the CPU usage to also increase substantially. Would installing 16GB of RAM, configured in dual-channel mode, address this concern?

Do your computer’s processor or hard drive activity levels appear to be between 70 and 80 percent?

Rapid:

Is that a high level of activity for your central processing unit or hard drive?
Hard drive usage. And now I’m noticing the identical issues in Apex Legends, failing to finish the introduction and my processor usage is at 42% with sudden jumps to 100 percent every four to six seconds.
