Elden Ring
Elden Ring
Hi guys, I'm slowing thinking about buying Elden Ring. Right now I could buy a SteamKey for 41.- or a PS4 Hard Version for 52.- . Hard (don't know what's the right word) is convenient but still expensive. I've got a PS4 Pro and a RTX 3060, can somebody tell me which would be better and if better by a significant margin ? I guess not but I thought I'd ask. Thanks,
We’re focusing on using the controller, so I’ll keep that in mind. I’ll think about the quality setting and refresh rate you intend to use. At 1080p with 60 frames per second, either works just fine. If you own it on Steam, it’s available on any device you own. But if you purchase it for PS4, it’s exclusive to that console.
Sure, I understand. You're asking about the comparison between PS4 Pro and the 3060 graphics card.
You can resell the physical "hard" copy. If you keep your PS4 for a long time, then you can play it for a long time. You cannot sell your steam copy. The steam key you're buying is not guaranteed safe because of how that market works. You will likely be able to buy a new gaming computer in 20 years. It comes down to two things imo: 1. You may want to sell it so get PS4 hard copy. 2. You may want to spend less money, wait for a steam sale. Winter and summer sale are the biggest ones
Ok, most of this I knew, thank you anyway. In my experience Steam remains more expensive than other online seller even when on sale. I've had zero problems with my current Steamkey seller Instant Gaming. I understand my request wasn't very straightforward. Really my question was, I could buy a steam key right now for a reasonnable price (41.-). Or I could wait for the better PS4 Hard option, like you said resell value, lending to my nephew... But, is Elden Ring on PS4 Pro, good enough (I have a 4K 65" Oled). Is it, at least, similar to a RTX3060 rendition ?
The PC version performs better than the PS4 version and costs less, so grab it. Also consider mods such as the full multiplayer add-on, which lets you play through the entire game with friends without needing to summon and reset them in different areas or dungeons.
Consider the PS4 CPU as extremely basic. If a 2 quad core became an 8 core model, what changes would happen? The PS4 Pro offers a marginally better speed but the main improvement came from the GPU. When games are constrained by CPU power, like in Elden Ring, the Pro version would make minimal adjustments to stability.
To my understanding, the console versions perform well. If you wish to share it with your nephew after completing the game, the PlayStation 4 is preferable. For those who enjoy the Souls series and plan to modify it, the more costly Steam version is recommended. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were specifically optimized due to their fixed specifications. Their graphics cards are top-tier AMD models from around 2009. I haven’t reviewed any YouTube comparisons, but if you’re interested in detailed performance and visual differences, some PS4 Pro versus RTX 3060 Elden Ring videos could be useful.
