So when I stream and record, I use my El Gato card to capture everything. Recently, while trying to play games on my PC, I noticed lag. It only started after the software launched, not during gameplay. This is odd: 1) Only the games lag when the program starts. 2) Other apps run smoothly. 3) No driver updates were made, so I thought it was a hardware issue. 4) This has happened with Dragon Age: Inquisition, Star Wars The Old Republic, and Far Cry 4—games I’ve been streaming lately. It seems the software is causing the problem, as games stop lagging once I close them. Anyone else experience this? Any solutions? It’s really frustrating.

I previously owned an El Gato Game Capture HD; the program demands a lot of processing power. I experienced noticeable delays with my older i5-3570. You didn't share your hardware details, but if you have a GTX 600 or newer, it will be much smoother to stream and record via shadow play.
I don’t think the issue is about the load. I’ve been using the software without problems for about two months. I just updated my profile, probably forgot to include my specs! My setup includes an i7 4820K Gigabyte X79-UP4 with 32GB G, Skill Sniper RAM Samsung EVO 120GB SSD, and a Toshiba 2TB drive (Nividia GeForce GTX 780 Windows 8.1 Pro). It’s puzzling that it suddenly started acting up. I haven’t changed any game settings, and even games I’ve played before are now experiencing this problem. It’s really strange.
