Im not stuck on EK they are just what my local microcenter carries. I like having a physical store to go to if i have a problem with product failure or something. But if the pump is all i have to order online then i guess i would be ok with that or pump/res. The 170 may be a bit tall. The 540 case is semi limited on space.

The Alphacool website seems to be confusing, and the costs are shown in a different currency, which makes it hard to understand.

I believe staying with a smaller reservoir now makes sense just in case I need to place it on the back side of the case. The d5 vario pump seems like a solid choice, though some people prefer the PWM version. I plan to order the d5 vario and pick up the reservoir from my local microcenter. If I need to connect the pump and reservoir on top of each other when stacking them, what would be the proper way to arrange them?

they can be linked using fittings, there are various types such as the one I demonstrated that combines a pump and a resistor into a single unit.

I'm planning to place an order for a d5 variation. I believe the photon 170 might be too large, so I'll opt for a smaller res and pump. Maybe an Ek 100 res?
