EK DDC pump leaking
EK DDC pump leaking
I'm working with EK-KIT L360 (R2.0). Over the past week the fluid level has been dropping gradually. Yesterday I performed a flush, removing nearly all the liquid. Checking the pump/reservoir area with clean paper showed the leak point. It leaks very slowly, causing the paper to become stained without any damage. I took out the reservoir section, cleaned it thoroughly, replaced the O-ring, and reinserted the tube before refilling the system. Now the pump appears clean externally, but the hole in the chassis of the pump top (above the inlet port) is slowly filling with liquid. The faster the pump runs, the quicker it fills. Please see the attached photo for reference. How can I resolve this issue? I don't want to risk my system since the pump is located near several hard drives. Thank you in advance!
I would empty the loop then send a return request for the pump/res. It's not worth trying to fix it yourself unless it's no longer covered by warranty. I had a leaking pump and attempted repairs three times, only managing to reduce the leak slightly. I ended up spending around $100 on a new MCP655, which turned out to be a good investment. Quiet and powerful. But honestly, I’d recommend getting an RMA for it.

Recently I observed the fluid level dropping gradually. Yesterday I flushed the system, removing almost all the liquid. Checking the pump/reservoir area with clean paper showed the leak point. It leaks so slowly it dries out, leaving no damage but staining the paper. I took out the reservoir part, cleaned it, replaced the o-ring, and reinserted the tube. After refilling the system, the pump appears clean externally, but the hole in the chassis of the pump top (above the inlet port) is slowly filling with liquid. The faster the pump runs, the quicker it fills. Please refer to the attached picture.

Make sure the tube reservoir is securely fastened on the pump top. If it’s properly secured, you may need to proceed with the RMA process.
Did you purchase the kit directly from the EK website or from a reseller?
Thank you for your responses. I've already requested the RMA via the reseller. The issue isn't with the reservoir or its attachment, since liquid is emerging from the bottom of the hole. I filled it with toilet paper and it dried out (similar to how a running nose dries up), leaving only a tiny orange smudge at the crack. Using a wet cotton swab, I rubbed it and it started leaking again. It's so small it's hard to see but I managed to take a photo with my phone.
Congratulations to the engineer who designed the pump top—placing the hole right above the port where the fitting is screwed was a smart choice.
