Why does my browser keep loading so slowly every time I open a site? I am using Edge on Windows 11. It happens to all websites, and the different parts of the page stay grey until I hover over them with my mouse before they start loading. Then they often turn grey again once I move my mouse away from that section. This started happening recently after some updates to Windows and Edge. try opening the site in private mode with Ctrl+Shift+N, if it loads okay that means one of your browser extensions might be breaking things.

I probably do not use any browser extensions, but I am going to give them a shot just in case.

Yeah, I've got no extra apps installed. It's still running in private mode.

Here is a simple version of that message:

This is just one guess because I keep getting stuck with Chromium browsers lately. Go to settings/performance/hardware acceleration and turn the slider off. Restart the browser as it will ask you if the problem goes away. Please tell us what happens.

It's currently switched off. I turned it off back before YouTube stopped working, and every video then showed up with a black screen.

Thanks, yeah I've been having trouble with my graphics card that seems connected to Home Assistant and even returned a card under warranty because of it. I haven't found a fix beyond what I think is just a workaround for the problems on the desktop where turning this off helped me at least some of the way.
