Windows 10 is now available with the updated Edge version by default. People are curious if it performs better than Chrome. A comparison video from Linus might be helpful!

Edge consumes roughly half the memory during testing, yet I stick with Chrome since I’m still learning everything.

Overall performance is better with this version, it runs smoother and requires less memory. I’m not very familiar with Chrome anymore, so I stick with it.

Chrome uses relatively little memory in practice (~3GB), while Edge consumes slightly less but I don’t think the difference is significant. I prefer Chrome because it keeps all my browsing history, bookmarks, and app data synchronized across all my devices.

I'll remain on Chrome until all my favorite extensions work on Edge.

3GB is quite a lot for a web browser. With 16GB of RAM, you're in a great spot, but for those with 8GB it's nearly half your memory left.

Edge consumes less memory, yet performance differences are barely perceptible. Chrome offers better extension compatibility and significantly higher scores in the HTML5 test (though I did encounter a quirky issue—“Your browser doesn't support charts”). From what I've seen, it runs more smoothly; Edge sometimes crashed, particularly when many tabs were open, whereas Chrome remained stable. I'm in favor of competition, so I gave it a shot. I hope Microsoft keeps enhancing it, and I'm open to trying it again if it improves further. For now, I prefer the reliability of Chrome.
