How many gadgets should an er lite manage? If it connects into a switch so every internal network flow passes through it, then the router acts mainly as an IP address distributor and internet controller. A typical range might be 50 to 100 devices, depending on your setup. Your situation with 40 to 60 devices suggests you're likely looking at a moderate capacity device.

The quantity of devices doesn't matter much.

Technically, a Class A subnet could support around 16 million addresses. Regarding concurrent connections, they mention roughly 1,000 users per device as the cap. This estimate doesn't account for QoS restrictions that might cap bandwidth above 200-300 Mbps.
