Hey there, I see you're dealing with a tricky situation. A few days ago, while downloading something—probably a video editing tool—I rushed and didn’t verify the file. When I opened it, malware started installing. I tried to end the process in Task Manager but it wouldn’t stop. I thought I was safe until I realized several programs were already running. I deleted most files, but Chrome was gone, and four tabs remained open even after closing them. Eventually, I used regedit to remove the Chrome files, which worked. Now I’m frustrated because occasionally pop-ups redirect me to other sites, which is really annoying. Regarding the rest extension you mentioned—since it’s a program from Pool, should I uninstall it? Yes, it’s probably a host for rundll32 and needs removal. Good luck with fixing this!

Thanks a lot! I installed Malwarbytes and ran it with Cleaner recently. It detected about 50 issues and cleared them all. For a while it stopped the pop-ups, but after around 20 minutes they reappeared. I plan to test other antivirus programs and some additional security tools today.
