Ecosystem feedback: positive or negative?
I'm using OneDrive for automatic camera uploads and downloads to my PC, along with Google Drive for documents and other needs. How do you feel about their combined Android and PC services? Do you suggest them or prefer using multiple cloud storage options like me? I favor cloud storage, and I haven't realized how long it's been since I last retrieved my USB cable. I'm thinking about adopting Google Photos, Google Drive, and other free services—would you recommend that?
If you're in the US, it's great; outside the US, such as in the Netherlands, it's pretty bad.
They've been quite reliable for me, so I think they're solid.
I rely on Gmail and Android apps. I use Dropbox for cloud storage and don’t heavily depend on Google Docs. That means I’m less dependent than some users.
My phone runs Android, and I rely on GMail while storing files in Dropbox.
I personally prefer not using Google services. They were decent once, but now Microsoft is my choice and has always worked for me. I rely on OneDrive for all my needs, Outlook for my emails. I also have a GMail account, mainly for forum alerts and similar purposes. I don’t call it a waste of email, but if a site or forum I sign up for gets hacked and spam floods in unexpectedly, I can simply close it and start fresh without too much hassle. OneDrive’s strength is that you can properly view documents online, it offers a free basic version of Office accessible to everyone, and it’s more spacious than Google. Plus, for the same cost as Google’s extra storage, Office 365 gives you 1TB of free space in OneDrive. That’s why I favor OneDrive over Google. I also appreciate how my two Windows 8 devices stay synchronized through OneDrive integration.
