EasyUS Partition Master can't change MBR to GPT?
I am using an old trial version of my program. When I try to change MBR into GPT, it tells me that the partition environment doesn't allow this and asks for help from technical support. Is this a problem with the software or something wrong with my BIOS? I have turned both UEFI and Legacy modes on at the same time.
These two checks will not pass: You also need the bootloader and Windows OS on different storage areas. Right now, both are stored in the same place. If you want your computer to work with MS requirements, remove recovery drives from disk 0 and copy data from D:.
First, make sure you checked if the trial version actually lets you convert files. Then, update your picture with the list of your computer's hardware and the system software it runs on. Open Disk Management, take a screenshot, and put that here using imgur (www.imgur.com). Show all drives, partitions, etc...
No info about the trial version is on their site because it probably doesn't let you change MBR to GPT like MiniTool Partition Wizard does. Here are your system specs: an Intel i5 4570 processor, a Gigabyte Z87 HD3 motherboard, and BIOS set for F6 Edition running Windows 10 Pro Version 21H1 with build number 19043.1165. You have Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.1530.0 installed. Now here is the system info: Device encryption didn't work because TPM isn't usable, PCR7 isn't supported, and security failed so the device can't do modern standby mode. Also, an un-allowed DMA capable bus/device was detected, which means it might be trying to use features that aren't allowed on your hardware.
What do you want me to turn into, and what makes that important?
To turn an MBR file into a GPT layout, the Windows registry is messed up and I need to start over with a fresh install.
Your hard drive has two parts that need to be changed, but each part shows up as a separate window. You can't just cut off one part and keep it going because you'd lose access to its data if you try to delete the other part. Instead of trying to fix this by cutting strings from the right side (which isn't allowed), you should copy your important files from both sides before deciding what to do with the rest of the disk.
It is an option. Maybe just one you don't want to take. You can't switch from MBR to GPT by yourself. But Microsoft has a tool called MBR2GPT at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows...mbr-to-gpt. I don't know how that works well with two operating systems, but it exists. Of course, you have to make sure your drive is backed up first.
Mbr2gpt won't work because the partition settings don't meet Microsoft's rules for BIOS and hard drive partitions, according to this guide.
