I've never tried overclocking before and reading guides for my I5 3570K was a bit unclear. One discussion suggested using EasyTune, but have others used that tool? Should I go with manual overclocking or stick to EasyTune?

Adjusting performance through software is frequently problematic, as the program is dependent on the Windows environment and may cause the entire system to fail.
