I’m looking for lightweight Minecraft packs that fit on a laptop, such as those compatible with Computercraft. Since you’ll be playing on your college desktop and connecting via Hamachi, focus on easy-to-run servers. Consider simpler setups like vanilla or minimal modded versions to keep things simple without overloading the system.

Excessive quantity isn't very useful, though it can be quite helpful.

The ideal mod pack fits every PC without overwhelming performance. Just experiment with installing different packs, uninstall those that don’t suit you, and try alternatives.

Shaders influence speed, but most changes won’t matter. Unless it’s a wild mod adding thousands of cows, the effect stays small.

I didn't mention cows, but unless you possess a huge number of detailed items, your recent edit on February 24, 2016 by IsaacDaGrazin was well done. Shaders.

Check out https://mineyourmind.net – all the bundles look really solid overall.

It's likely some information from a previous time, but Tekkit Lite seems to function really well now.
