I have a Red Hat server with a connected printer and a folder for PDFs. Previously, users accessed it via a KVM switch, but frequent Java updates have made this difficult. We can already reach the CUPS interface directly on the server, so access is somewhat functional. Now we need a user-friendly tool to browse to the server and manage files in that specific directory. I’m looking for something easy to set up and use. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For sharing folders across a network, options like Samba or FTP are widely used. They offer flexible permission settings, letting you manage access as needed.

ftp might not suit everyone, so a user-friendly web interface is being sought. Users just want to view files, open pdfs, print when needed, and remove them afterward.

You're not alone—no tool handles this exactly. Some methods let Samba share files so they appear in file managers, requiring only a one-time setup. Once configured, clients can access them locally without further changes.
