The recent games I've been playing have started freezing briefly before returning to normal operation. This problem appeared suddenly, first noticed in Battlefield 2042 after a recent download, and has since affected other titles like BG3, BF1, and League. I've tried updating the graphics driver, adding exclusions in my antivirus for game folders, disabling overclocks, and checking system temperatures. No clear cause seems evident. Anyone else facing this issue or have tips? Your help would be appreciated.

No, I'm not using Wallpaper Engine or any comparable tool for changing my desktop background.

I've tried it in both modes, but the problem continues. I've been using it for years without any issues.

Your profile details reflect your existing PC along with a 2TB NVMe storage upgrade.

Occasionally a simple system refresh fixes an issue. Turn off secure boot and set up Windows 10 using a GPU driver that's only 3-4 years old. Disconnect the HDD as well.

Recent bios updates? Current chipset firmware? Can MPO be turned off?

I checked the details and turned off the service using regedit, which should fix the problem.
