e8400 overclock specs

Hi, do you have any information about overclocking the E8400 to 4.5ghz or higher? I'm currently at 4.39 and can't go beyond that. My setup includes an EVGA Nforce 680i SLI motherboard, 4 gigabytes of Samsung PC2-5300 RAM, and a Chinese knockoff twin tower cooler with two fans. I'm running Windows 7 in 64-bit mode. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I believe faster RAM wouldn't significantly impact performance. Increasing voltage and timings could help somewhat, but I'm skeptical. 4.4 is already quite strong, making it unlikely you'll surpass 4.5 with the current setup.

No, if it remains that way, refrain from proceeding further, as excessive voltage adjustments could be risky, but keep an eye on the temperature. That's the guidance I've given others about OC.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm only aiming for a 4.5GHz frequency. It's not the primary board, just an extra. If I upgrade the RAM speed, would that help me increase it further without needing to raise the voltage?
