Hi, I bought a Dynabook X30L-J with a touchscreen, but my older Toshiba AES Stylus Pen still works well on my Toshiba X20W-D. Both are running Windows 11. I checked the drivers for both machines and noticed that the X20W-D has a HID-compliant pen driver, which is missing from the newer laptop. I searched the Dynabook support site and other sources but couldn’t find it. I also tried other solutions like checking hidden drivers or updating existing ones, but nothing helped.

How can I resolve this issue? Where should I look for a suitable driver? If I need another pen, which Toshiba models are compatible with this device?

I’ve spent a lot of time searching online without much success so far. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

From what I learned:
Your current stylus pen only works with X20W-series laptops, according to the specifications at the provided link. It doesn’t fit X30L-series models, which explains why it doesn’t function properly. I wasn’t able to locate a Toshiba-compatible stylus for your X30L-series laptop. Only two Broonel stylus pens were found online, though I’m unsure if they’d work (unless they’re on sale). I saw Amazon listings for those here:
https://www.amazon.com/Broonel-Black-Dig...B0CJCCP3JS
and here in the UK:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Broonel-Silver-...B0CJJJJNKW
It might be worth reaching out to Dynabook to confirm if any stylus pens are suitable for your X30L-series device. To be honest, Dynabook was once part of Toshiba’s lineup until Sharp acquired it in 2018, so chances are slim you’ll find a Toshiba-branded option.

Thanks for the reply. I checked the pen on Amazon but wasn't sure if the issue lies with the pen itself or a missing driver. Noticing the driver in the older laptop and its absence in the newer one led me to suspect a driver problem. Do you think it's not related to the driver?

Specialized equipment generally needs specific drivers to function properly. Because your latest laptop lacks the drivers for your stylus pen, the pen isn't operational.
