I kept track of my GPU and CPU usage consistently whenever I launch a new game. Dying Light doesn’t seem to utilize more than two cores, though it might not be taking full advantage of quad-core systems. My observations show average usage: Core 1 90%-100%, Core 2 80-100%, Core 3 40-70%, Core 4 40-65%. I’m unsure why video capture fails with Dying Light on some CPUs. Could this be the reason it struggles on most processors? EDIT: To improve stability, lower all shadows to a very low setting and set viewing distance to zero. It runs smoothly now but still looks great.

I’m preparing for the game and wanted to know how it performs. Could you share some performance numbers like average FPS and other stats? Also, did you test it using the standard CPU configuration?

Never considered it before. Appears nice but has many dips. Typical frame rate between 35 and 60 frames per second, so if you prefer that speed, keep an eye out for updates.

The game performs poorly and doesn’t run smoothly. A patch is needed. It struggles to keep 60 frames per second across all systems, and even users reporting stability often see around 40fps.

Similar to all other NVIDIA games, it functions as expected.

I’m fine with lower frame rates—30+ is manageable for me. Since the CPU seems to be limiting performance, my 4.8Ghz OC 4790k should handle it easily, and a GTX 770 OC looks like it’ll work too. What do you think?

You didn’t notice anything unusual since your 7850 runs smoothly at 30 FPS. The 770 might be from another source or a different metric.

You're likely okay with the graphics settings beyond just how close you are to the screen. Running an R9 270X at native resolution of 1600x900 with textures set to High still gives me no noticeable difference in frame rate. In fact, my GPU usage stays under 80%, so a 770 should run smoothly. The main problem appears to be the processor—my results don't match what I expect from any of them. Even the recommended AMD CPU (8350) barely hits around 30 frames per second, which is quite low. I'm relieved I didn’t invest in this game.

I'm really into Nvidia, that's okay. AMD delivers some powerful graphics cards, especially considering the price. That 295x2 setup is impressive—what a great deal. Honestly, it felt like the top choice for my budget. Wow, that's interesting. I haven't noticed a game struggling with CPU performance before. It seems consoles are coming out on top in this situation!
