Dying Light 2 Denuvo DRM
Dying Light 2 Denuvo DRM
So many of you are aware that Dying Light 2 is now available with Denuvo as a DRM, and you're curious about its effect on performance. From what I've heard, Denuvo can significantly impact performance, making it hard to predict how it will influence your FPS. Since I don't have a specific GPU recommendation, I'm not sure exactly what the difference will be. My current setup includes an ASUS StriX GTX 970 OC, RYZEN 5 3600X, ASUS PRIME B450 PLUS, 16 GB RAM at 3200MHz, and a Corsair RM750 power supply.
Developers think it won't impact performance, but the game already has its own problems. As a big DL fan, I'll wait at least a few weeks before buying two. Maybe wait until it's on sale so they can fix bugs and show how much effort went into the first version. For any game that's highly expected, don't rush in. I'm sorry to the devs because they'd also feel pressure from higher-ups. Too much unnecessary stress.
Nonetheless, denuvo is recognized for its impact on performance, so I would still avoid it. Concerning your comments, yes, that's accurate—the game has problems, the initial version was similar, but over time it evolved into the one we now enjoy. I’m uncertain about DL2’s compatibility with my 970, especially since I can play the first game smoothly with Max settings.
Well 1050ti is marked as the minimum, but I'd consider it recommended as a minimum to at least enjoy the game, which the 2060 is suggested for—you're not too far off. Keep an eye on how it goes; the game isn't going anywhere, and I'm sure you'll upgrade your GPU eventually when prices drop.
