dwm.exe make my games laggy
Hey there! The games begin to slow down or become choppy after a few hours of running. I found that restarting dwn.exe usually fixes the issue for about 10-12 hours. Before discovering dwm.exe, I noticed the FPS stays consistent before and after screen tearing, usually staying above 144. It seems like overheating isn't the problem—my system ran MSI Afterburner and AIDA64, and everything looked normal. I reinstalled Windows and drivers, didn’t overclock anything, cleared standby memory with RamMap (even though my RAM usage was usually sufficient), and recorded gameplay using ShadowPlay. It looked smooth at 60 fps, but laging more when set to 144 hz. I reset the BIOS to default settings; it’s up to date. Drivers were current too. Disabling fullscreen optimization helped, though it felt like V-sync, which I don’t need. The CPU voltage reads 1.056 according to BIOS. I tested different monitor ports—HDMI and DisplayPort—and changed the monitor connections, unplugging cables. Here are my specs:
