I purchased a CSS DVD with a disc and code sheet, but the code was already used on Steam. I’m unsure if it’s possible to run it on a non-Steam installer or if I’m stuck. The main issue is that I can’t test it because I don’t have access to my PC at the moment.

It might function with other launchers due to shared compatibility layers or APIs that allow Steam activation to be accessed independently.

It's not a Steam code, but Steam can validate it. In fact, it appears to be a verification for ensuring you aren't downloading the game illegally.

These codes have already been sent and verified on the server. Once processed, the specific code will be recorded as redeemed. If it works for another launcher, it’s likely already widely used.

I understand the games you mentioned, including Sims and GTA IV. It looks like you're wondering if they require normal PC verification or if Steam is necessary. You might just have to wait until your PC is ready.

Hey there! Just a quick note about being familiar with old PC games. I've always gotten used to codes that work across different installers, and it's the same with newer titles like Sims 3. Just remember to check the store front for any special offers.

I saw that earlier when preparing this message, but it didn’t include the details you were looking for. I have a code now, but I’m unsure if the game requires Steam or if it’s similar to older PC titles with installers and code prompts.
