After downgrading to Windows 10, I lost the recovery partition. I have the SP1 ISO for my version and a bit of Windows. If I install it, can I power on using my OEM battery to activate it? Also, if it doesn’t work, will phone activation still function since Windows 7 support ended?

I transferred my setup from an Alienware X51 to a regular desktop, but OA keys didn’t function properly for me.

You're unsure about the legality, but you mentioned using SLMgr commands in a command prompt to turn off a key and then back on it on another machine.

There is a high chance of triggering without needing a command.

You're welcome to use the OA key. This version is not XP anymore.

Yes, you can perform a factory reset if you recover your recovery partition, and the license should remain valid.

Thanks for the assistance! I’m refusing to put 10 back after that mistake. I plan to try 10 on a different drive and swap it out. Once I’m satisfied, I’ll upgrade.
