When I first tried Duke Nukem 3D it was frustrating to see the option to rescue the kidnapped women, yet they were required to be killed. Since I haven't progressed past the DNF stage yet, I still can't save them. Now, with the N64 version of DN3D you have the chance to rescue them, although the screenshots show the abducted wearing one-piece swimsuits. I’m skeptical anyone would find that surprising. If I had created a DNF version, you could have saved the Podgirls before the Alien hatchling kills them. Of course, back then with the constraints of DOS and PC hardware, and after purchasing games from a store, you should ignore any concerns about female nudity or the infamous first Holsom Twins scene. Anyone else felt the same way about being unable to save the women?
It's 2021 with #metoo and equality movements, and women know they can protect themselves. Damn it! Only Duke Nukem made sense in the original.
In most PC games the characters you capture end up dying. In the first game, the women beg you to kill them, but you refuse. You also can't save them. Certain insects lay eggs inside animals, providing the larvae with fresh food. The Botfly does this in mammals, while some wasps target large cockroaches and spiders.
I wasn't aware of that feature in the game... And I haven't ventured beyond the casino yet.
