Sure, you can run both Linux Mint and Windows 10 safely by using separate storage drives. This way each OS stays isolated, protecting your data from conflicts or corruption.

Absolutely! I'm testing it right now on both my laptops. The mint installer includes the grub boot manager, and you simply choose the operating system at startup. I haven't experienced any data issues in years. Just make sure to back up your files if you're concerned.

I don't have a specific version of Linux installed. Could you clarify which distribution you're using?

Linux Mint version 20.1 is available. It's also useful to note that the Mint installer includes a tool called gparted, which lets you modify drive partition sizes. This feature works well for your setup with a single drive.

The setup guide is quite basic and may not be very helpful for newcomers. Installing Mint seems easier than setting up Windows, but I suggest watching a tutorial to understand what you're getting into. A solid review and installation of Mint is available, though it runs in a virtual machine, starting the process around the 8-minute mark.
