Dualboot Laptop: Dell XPS 13 vs. HP Pro Book 635
Hi, I’m looking to buy and configure a 13" laptop for my workspace. The setup needs Windows 10 for specific software, but also requires Linux support. There are two main choices: the Dell XPS 13 Core i5-1135G7 with 16 GB RAM and an NVMe SSD, or the HP Probook 635 Aero G7 with a full HD display and a 512GB SSD. Both have pros and cons. The HP model includes an LTE modem, which is handy, while the Dell offers better value and faster RAM. Since I’m new to dual-boot setups, I’d prefer a system that’s easier to install. The HP’s marketing terms like “Sure Start” and “Sure Run” sound promising, but I’m curious how others have handled installing Linux alongside Windows there. Any insights or personal experiences would be appreciated.
In general, it’s best to reset everything and begin with a clean slate, as both products come packed with unnecessary software. Expert advice: I wouldn’t purchase an HP item if you paid for it. I’ve spent too many years dealing with their poor quality. Bottom line—go for the Dell instead.
