I started Metro Last Light Redux a few weeks ago, powered on 4xAA from the beginning, but was let down by poor framerates. After reviewing the settings again, I realized it used SSAA instead of MSAA and that explained the issue. I didn’t remember this until your comment highlighted how tough AA was for that card.

MSAA MASTERRACE! Avoid DSR. Just don’t rely on it unless you can get double resolution on both horizontal and vertical like 4K while maintaining solid FPS. If not, stick with the tools available in your games—it’ll perform better.
