Hello everyone! I saved a high-definition hard drive from a PC impacted by the recent storm. Ran a HDSentinel check on the HHD and confirmed it was in good condition. Chose to upgrade from a WD green 1TB to a Samsung 1TB model to achieve the 7200RPM speed. Acronis confirmed the backup and restore process worked properly. After installing the new HHD on the upgraded system, I noticed the following: loading DRMK V8.00 DRMK Version 8.00 COMMAND.COM Build 37 - Jul 28, 2008 DRMK KERNEL Build 15 - Aug 8, 2008 Copyright © 2006-2008 Dell Inc. All rights reserved. The installation path was C:\> (Error: Invalid command or filename). Additional info: Gateway DX4831-01E image to a DELL OPTILPLEX 9010. Both have OEM Windows 7 pro product keys.

Consider a complete Windows reinstall. It could be fixing corrupted files that are disrupting things.
