DRM or not, developers have the freedom to decide. Whether they rely on Steam as a platform isn't an issue for me. I can disable the internet and enjoy offline play too. Back in the day, DRM was much more bothersome; digital distribution has been a relief. I’m fine with Origin as well, though I’ve faced some problems verifying ownership of Mass Effect DLC.
