I own an NVIDIA Shield controller and really enjoy it. The issue began when I first connected it to my PC; the driver for NVIDIA GeForce was installed, emulating an Xbox 360 controller. Everything seemed normal. The next day, when I powered on the PC, my lighting from Corsair wouldn't switch to a custom setting and then crashed shortly after startup. This occurred every time I booted up. The BSOD messages indicated a "driver power state failure" with the USB22 driver. I've already tried replacing the .sys file with one I downloaded and ran "sfc /scannow," but it reported everything was fine. What should I try next?

The issue was resolved by ensuring the controller was connected during startup.
