Driver issues with graphics software.
I said I prefer Xorg because it's much lighter. I'm not too concerned about it becoming deprecated as long as it keeps running smoothly. Everything looks the same, and I haven't noticed any issues.
The information indicates that modesetting is active while fbdev and vesa are not. Even though the Xorg driver is present—likely for backup or bundled with Xorg—I believe it continues to rely on the modesetting driver under both X11 and Wayland environments.
It depends on your preference; Linux thrives on options. If hardware acceleration isn't functioning, the best resources are the Arch and Gentoo wikis, as they require explicit instructions. They're also useful since they clarify your GPU's capabilities with respect to codecs.
Hardware acceleration appears to be active. The steps taken seem to increase CPU load when using the GUI, which suggests it might have been enabled by default or through a different method. I didn't install the driver referenced, only applied Chrome flags. Monitoring via intel_gpu_top and decoding confirms functionality. It's unclear if the issue was due to acceleration or GUI interaction.
Moving the mouse while the GUI appears increases the CPU load.
