Driver issues cause unexpected deletions randomly
Hello! I just set up Windows 7 on my computer. When I first tried to install the graphics drivers, they worked but kept showing an error about a .dll not being signed—even though it was signed. I got the driver from the official NVIDIA site. After rebooting, everything installed correctly and ran smoothly. Once I turned on the PC, it updated its startup settings and displayed a resolution of 800x600 at 60Hz instead of the previous 1920x1080 at 144Hz. I reinstalled the drivers this time without issues and they worked perfectly. After another reboot, I noticed strange behavior (attached). Upgrading Windows isn’t an option for me. My NVIDIA control panel was functioning well before the reboot, but it disappeared after the drivers were updated. Sorry for the confusion—please let me know if you can help. Thanks, John.
Upgrading isn't possible because Windows 7 is no longer supported.
I currently don't have access to a Win7 machine connected to the internet.
