I purchased a used RX 7600 on Facebook Marketplace and when attempting to install drivers, they didn’t appear in Task Manager or Device Manager. Only the IGPU drivers for my Ryzen 5 7600 were installed. Running DDU and performing clean installs didn’t help. In GPUZ I noticed the VBIOS is showing "yyyyyyyyyyyyy". This suggests a possible BIOS corruption. If it is indeed corrupt, you might consider flashing it using the VBIOS of a similar X-FX RX 7600 card.
I believe you were taken advantage of. A code 43 on a GPU usually indicates serious issues, often meaning it’s malfunctioning completely. It won’t display any clock speeds, VRAM data, or BIOS version properly. Do you know if the card functions without the integrated graphics on your Ryzen 7600? You can disable the iGPU in the BIOS to test this, but if the Radeon 7600 isn’t working, you might need to discharge the CMOS battery for five minutes to reactivate it. You won’t be able to access the BIOS without a GPU. The seller’s immediate refusal after you mentioned the problem is a major warning sign.
They didn’t seem to work. Consider reinstalling the GPU or updating its BIOS settings.
I've used it in two other platforms as well, yielding nearly identical outcomes; the BIOS name is now unclear rather than "yyyyyyyyyyy".
The card features a bios toggle button. One side displays an unknown status, while the other shows "yyyyyyyyy" indicating the bios mode.
At least one BIOS on the GPU was likely damaged. The situation is unclear and quite unusual. It seems this GPU may have received two faulty BIOS updates from its previous owner. It’s currently at 2AM, so I’m not fully in a clear headspace. I’ll respond tomorrow with a more thoughtful answer. I don’t want to make any mistakes that could worsen the problem. Still, yeah… it doesn’t look good.
