Driver for USB 3.0 ports is missing.
Hi everyone, I recently resolved some issues with my drivers because conflicting drivers were appearing on my Windows 10 machine. This happened more than three months ago, and since then I’ve lost access to my USB 3.0 ports. I reviewed my driver list and noticed several USB 3.0 entries. I considered reverting my PC to retrieve the drivers, but I’m unsure which version to roll back to and fear making a mistake that could damage my system. Then I searched online for available USB 3.0 drivers and found none. I contacted MSI, my motherboard manufacturer, who informed me they don’t have any USB 3.0 drivers listed and only redirected me to their website for more info. I thought a full system reset might work, but I’m hesitant because I don’t want to risk losing my data or programs. Would it be better to perform a complete fresh installation of Windows instead? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -Lato
Playful challenge: by the end of the week, give a shot for each thread you began since MSI said they couldn't assist. Have you attempted to physically reinstall the cable? Which motherboard do you own? If your board has several 3.0 internal headers, switch to another one.
You should verify the items in Device Manager. You can right-click an entry and choose Update Drivers. A fresh Windows installation is also a popular option. Alternatively, consider an image restore.
Looking for the exact motherboard? Just verify if MSI’s site truly has no drivers available. Their site is solid and supports driver downloads well. If you still can’t locate drivers there, you can obtain them from the USB controller manufacturer’s sources.
I own an MSI Z77A-GD55 motherboard. I tried looking into the connections, but it seems there are no drivers available for USB 3.0 in Device Manager.
Thank you very much, I will purchase a new mechanical drive and try it whenever feasible. Appreciate your guidance.
