I purchased this 6700XT roughly six months ago and haven’t managed to get it running smoothly. The driver frequently crashes and disappears. I’m using driver version 22.5.1 since higher versions cause minor stuttering in all my games. I’ve installed a clean Windows setup, turned off every available feature in AMD Adrenaline and Freesync. I’ve experimented with various refresh rates and resolutions. I’ve disabled HDR and run just one screen. Still nothing works; this driver keeps disappearing. Additionally, the idle VRAM speed remains stuck around 2000Mhz instead of decreasing. After looking online, some users suggested adjusting CRU to modify blanking lines. I changed several settings but didn’t see any improvement. I’m unsure if the issue is linked to that, but it’s strange the idle speed never drops. Having tried everything possible, I’m reaching out for advice. If anyone has faced a similar problem with this card, I’d love to know how they resolved it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I bought this during a price drop for the GPU and am really hoping it works now! Build: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) AMD 6700XT nitro+ edition Samsung G27 (primary screen) (2560x1440 @ 144Hz) Samsung G25 (secondary screen) (2560x1440 @ 144Hz)

Your AMD driver may be failing because the graphics card driver could be damaged. Check for updates via the Device Manager. Another reason is overheating during gameplay.

Install the newest driver and address the microstutter problem instead of using an outdated one, which often makes things worse. There don’t appear to be any diagnostic checks in place to pinpoint the microstutter issue.

You're asking about how Windows handles updates and installations. It seems you're unsure if it's replacing your current drivers with a new one or simply reinstalling the default display settings. The process involves checking what's being updated and ensuring compatibility before proceeding.

Since the DX11 'optimizations' released on 22.5.2 have become common, many users notice them early on. However, they usually appear only in the initial moments of gameplay, so players might not spend long enough in a session. @Stutters should try launching it once Windows 22.5.1 is set up. If you're right, the system may install a different driver than the one you installed—Microsoft handles this on AMD cards, for example. Running DDU could help determine if crashes disappear.
