Driver files missing during Windows 10 setup
Driver files missing during Windows 10 setup
I plan to create a boot drive that appears in BIOS, but when using the Windows 10 installer from USB, I receive a warning about missing device drivers. The system insists the media must have the right drivers before proceeding. I'm running on a B450M DSP3 with Gigabyte, a Ryzen 2700X and Vega 56 PowerColour. Changing USB devices or ports hasn't resolved the issue—I've tested both legacy and UEFI boot modes, as well as BIOS-to-OS handoff settings across all configurations. Need assistance
Typically seen as extra stuff to remove. BIOS is updated to the newest version?
Do you have additional drives attached? If yes, remove them. I've experienced this problem before and it resolved it. Besides that, you can install the SATA controller driver for your board onto a different USB drive, boot into the Windows installer, choose 'load driver', and load it from the alternate USB to test.
I’ll refresh my bios and SATA drivers to check the results, thanks for your help! I’ll get back to you soon.
It sounds as though the installation drive is missing files and/or corrupt. Was it something you created yourself? If so, how? I know some time back Rufus was having issues burning Windows 10 .iso files, not sure if this is a persistent issue. Microsoft's Media Creation Tool was the only way I was able to get a working installation drive for a build a friend was doing He had an installation flash drive from Microsoft (purchased directly through their store, so I know it was genuine) which refused to boot.
