Your netbook runs fine with the Atheros AR5B125 card in Windows 7, but encounters a serious crash when trying to connect via network in Windows XP. Several users reported similar problems, especially after installing drivers designed for Windows 7. Some found success by using a driver package tailored for Windows 7, though that same driver caused issues in XP. Could there be a solution to make the card function properly under XP?

Maybe install the XP driver for the card first, then upgrade it to the Win7 driver before connecting to a network. After that, consider changing the Wi-Fi chip timing.

It seems you discovered a driver that works for XP. I'll share the link with anyone who needs it.
