Drive C appears overly occupied.
Hey there, I saw a pop-up yesterday warning me my C drive was almost full and suggested deleting files. Surprised, I checked and found it was actually getting filled up. I didn’t realize some games had been saved there. After cleaning everything I don’t need, only 63GB remains out of the original 232GB. That means a big 170GB space is being used on what seems like a small drive. Things I’ve done so far: Windows Defender found nothing, looked at disk usage and found a huge 60MB saved, checked apps and realized they total around 2GB, scanned pictures, downloads, etc., all empty. Examined folder properties and got these numbers: Programme files = 1.5GB, Programme date = 4.5GB, Users = 48GB (mostly just my personal share), Windows = 21GB. Maybe this is normal usage, but it feels unusually high given the few apps I actually install—like Chrome, Discord, Steam, etc.—and separate drives for those. Any tips? Or should I be worried? Thanks!
It's typical for hidden cache files to exist in Explorer. Certain programs might leave temporary files without fully deleting them. Use TreeSize to identify which folders are consuming storage.
This serves as another method for locating large files that require searching or cleaning... My previous work involved Adobe Project Preview files stored in the Adobe folder (older projects), and after clearing them, everything was resolved.
I should note that I searched for a Windows.old but it wasn't available. Still, it's interesting—I just discovered this folder, though I have no idea what it is. By appearance, it seems related to Forza. I'm going to explore it further!
Thanks for the helpful program! I just cleared 120gb from my C drive using a temporary Fallout folder and some old Forza files.
