Hi everyone, I'm trying to swap out the Draytek Vigor 2762 since it seems its firmware is outdated. Would anyone suggest a suitable replacement? Also, I've set up one of the RJ45 ports for VDSL FTTP connections—this update really needs doing soon. Thanks!

The number 2766 appears to be the primary change, but there might be another factor influencing this update.

Observed software patches halted in 2023. Since this affects a modest operation, I didn’t need to keep outdated equipment running.

It varies based on your requirements. Are you connecting via xDSL modem? Do you have the Wi-Fi brand? Are you using a VPN client? Replacing it with another brand might be challenging. You can find a suitable model from Draytek or explore options like Fortinet. In some cases, even an Ubiquiti device could function, depending on the location and specific needs.

It's functioning as a modem, not a Wi-Fi device. The TP-Link Deco mesh system is already set up to manage the network, so a VPN client isn't necessary. I've been exploring Ubiquiti solutions.

For modems, it’s best to reach out to your ISP to check their supported options. I’m sure some providers have strict requirements about what they permit. My ISP maintains a reasonable selection of compatible retail modems, for instance.
