It seems the issue might be with the CPU's memory controller or the motherboard. Would you like me to reach out to the retailer for assistance?

It seems strange, I’m not sure what’s going on. After using the 2 and 4 channels, I kept seeing multiple bluescreens in a row. Switching to the 3 and 4 channels fixed it. The store where I bought the PC asked if I wanted a new motherboard, but I really don’t know how to build a PC.

It’s straightforward to follow along with many YouTube tutorials. However, distinguishing between the motherboard and CPU can be tricky. I think the socket might be slightly off, which could explain why the DRAM channels behave unpredictably.

I'm mainly concerned about the large CPU cooler, I think I can handle the rest. I'll consider it later.

Yes, you should reapply thermal paste after removing the CPU cooler to ensure proper heat transfer.

Typically, you need to clean and change the paste completely each time you refill a cooler. If it was changed on the same day as the application, it should work fine.

They sent me a new motherboard, and I started removing the cooler and CPU. The only thing I didn’t inspect was the CPU, which seems to be faulty at the top. Since I’ve built everything on the new board, the dual-channel setup is working again. Could it be that both the old motherboard and processor are damaged? I’m not sure I hurt it while handling it, and I’m wondering if I should get a replacement CPU as well. I feel confused—I don’t think they’ll replace the CPU unless they find fault with it after moving it.
