It can work with a 4000 Mhz CL16, though not exactly the same model. I spent months trying to fit RAM into my 5900X setup until I realized QVL really matters. Replacing the RAM with QVL-compatible kits fixed problems on two different builds, and both maintained identical timings and voltage as the original non-QVL units. No other adjustments needed. I'll check if I can obtain some C18 and try it out; the more I consider it, the more likely this issue seems to be.

Make sure the QVL list suggests it; otherwise, you could be spending money on a solution that won’t work. Answered earlier before I noticed this... Hope it helps. Edited October 15, 2022 by An0maly_76 Updated with more details

I'm using a 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL 3200Mhz CL16 card. It isn't listed on the QVL, but it's running smoothly with XMP settings—maybe worth keeping in mind for future builds.
