I had trouble starting Dragon Age: Inquisitions (2014). I downloaded it from Steam and was prompted to install Origins and log in. Every time I tried to launch the game, Origin would open first then nothing happened. I also attempted to run it directly from Origin, used the troubleshooter, ran it as an administrator, tried compatibility settings, color mode, etc. The issue persisted consistently after installation. My system specs are: Ryzen 7 5800X, RX 6800 XT, Gigabyte B550 Gaming X, 32 GB RAM at 3600MHz.

I’ve always thought origins are really unreliable, and every dollar spent on these games ends up being wasted. I bought Mass Effect three there but never managed to get it launched. I ended up purchasing it again on Steam just to be able to play it.

You don’t need to start Origin to use it, especially with Inquisitions.

I thought I’d been taken away a long time ago when I stopped purchasing from the origins store, even though it was the only place I could buy anything. It didn’t really function, so it seemed like it never existed. I expected they’d probably improved things by then, but they didn’t.

I possess just one copy of that game and I played it smoothly, but this version came from Steam.

It can sometimes make the origin store less annoying, though it remains unstable. Eventually I managed to get it functioning, but I’m not sure how. Once it stopped being an issue, it seemed to work fine. Still, it might become a recurring issue. I think the Steam Dragon Fall discussion page is where you should check it out.
