Hello everyone, I built my PC from scratch a few months back. When I drag and drop files from the desktop to a folder—even if it’s on the desktop itself—I end up making a duplicate of the item instead of moving it properly. I have an SSD for the operating system and a regular drive for storage. The folders like "desktop," "downloads," "music," etc., are stored on the HDD, but this behavior is really frustrating. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks!

When you move and place files in Windows, they are transferred automatically depending on where they start and end. Dragging from one drive to another usually copies them there. Moving from a local spot to a network spot copies them too. For CDs, Blu-rays, or DVDs, the copy happens by default. You can adjust these settings if needed, either through options or by using short key commands.
