Downloads Are Rejecting Further Progress
I've been attempting to download a single game for the entire week. I left a Steam ticket, but they clearly didn't take it seriously (since it's obvious they're targeting accounts with 350 games). Moving on from Steam issues. I started the download, gradually increasing speed until it reached full capacity. It took anywhere from a few minutes to over an hour, depending on the speed. Eventually, it stopped working altogether, forcing me to repeatedly click 'Start Download.' I changed regions, reset my router and modem, removed the game files, and reinstalled it. I cleared out all scheduled downloads to specific times, unsure why they set those times. My only choice now is uninstalling the Steam client. I'd rather skip the hassle of moving my Steam app folder, which is a massive 2TB. I also have two other hard drives linked to my library, and fixing them would be even more complicated. That's the situation I'm facing.
This happened to me once last year. What download region did you try? Personally, Sweden and Ukraine fixed my problem. =) Another possible option, while waiting for Steam Support to respond, would be to download your game from a computer (unless its also having the same troubles) and making a "backup" file of the game and transfer it to your main PC via portable drives.
The issue is slowing everything down. I need to transfer an SD card to a random PC so it has enough room to drag the game over. My drive is 4 gigabytes and packed with homebrew Wii content. There are a few 8-gigabyte drives nearby. I searched for Sweden, but that didn’t work.
You don't have to remove Steam, close it, or clear everything in the Steam folder except the executable and your game directory. Restarting Steam can resolve issues where downloads stopped working and then resumed after a while.
