Hello everyone, previously I was told to set up a Windows 10 ISO for my new PC rather than trying to install Windows 7. But the download via the Windows media tool is taking a long time—about 15% in just 4 hours. My internet speed is around 10mb/s, so it’s not particularly slow. Thanks!

Speed of 10mb/s is quite low. With an ISO of 10gb, it will likely take several hours to complete.

For clarity, 10mbps equals approximately 1.25 Mega Bytes each second. A 10 Gigabyte file is about 10,000 Megabytes. It would require roughly 8,000 seconds—about 133 minutes or 2 hours—under stable conditions with consistent speed.

The Microsoft servers are frequently unreliable, so it might be worth stopping and trying anew to improve your download speed.

The ISO file size is less than 4GB. But the issue might vary based on the mirror you're using and your connection to it.

The ISO tool isn't very reliable... Its performance is quite slow. You might want to try running the program again, but I wouldn't recommend it since it can't resume from where it left off. If you're planning to install Windows 10, it's better to save the ISO file and mount it on a USB drive for a clean setup later. The main drawback of downloading Windows slowly is needing to re-download it eventually.
