You mentioned illegal piracy because it relates to unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material.

Pixel recommended a software with piracy features. I didn’t mean you. Thank you for clarifying.

I don't really see a difference, either way, the artist doesn't get any money.

It doesn't matter. Would you enter a store and grab a CD? Back them even if it's just a few cents. Perhaps I'm foolish for not supporting piracy, which is essentially stealing. Purchase some merchandise from the artist and enjoy a song. It only costs a few dollars and isn't that simple.

What does downloading a YouTube video mean for the creator? It provides no financial benefit to them.

It's strange to see such a situation, as it seems to support something deeply unethical and against the law. That should be noted clearly.

I wouldn't attempt it on my own, though it's not against the law, so I have no authority to comment on it.

It seems like you're expressing frustration about paying for music. If you don't want to pay, then taking it without permission makes sense.

I understand it's essentially the same concept but only one version is allowed while others are restricted. As for why we have platforms like YouTube, Spotify, and Pandora, they provide access to a wide range of music options.
