I get really slow when I download games on Origin or Steam, and my computer feels like it's stuck even while other apps run. I have a big 1TB SSD that should be super fast, so the drive isn't the problem at all. Even though Task Manager shows my CPU and GPU using less than half their power, there is still lots of lag when downloading something. My computer specs are: Radeon 5700XT AMD Ryzen 7 3700x MSI b450 Tomahawk MAX

follow these steps one by one in order (keep reading until the very end): disconnect from the internet completely. uninstall every single GPU driver using DDU, make sure to clean it up without restarting the computer, also check all options under AMD settings in DDU. uninstall all processors on your device manager like this: uninstall AMD Chipset Software through control panel if you don't have one, skip that part then reboot the PC and go into BIOS, disable AMD fTPM and secure boot if they are turned on by default, save and exit, go back to BIOS again and flash to the latest BIOS version which is ver 7C02v3F from agesa with version 1.2.0.7, do this step one more time if you already have that latest BIOS installed, then load default or optimized settings in BIOS, enable your fastest XMP profile, save and exit again. Optional: disable CSM, enable Above 4G Decoding and Resizable BAR option (you can't get those two options to work unless you turn off CSM), if your GPU supports it don't forget to try XD if everything else works fine. after booting up into Windows and installing the latest Chipset driver (should be version 4.08.xx at the time of writing this guide, make sure to restart), then check Power Plan in settings and ensure that AMD Ryzen Balanced Power plan is active instead of the normal Windows power plan. install the latest Radeon driver which is version 22.8.2, reboot your computer, now connect to the internet once all of these steps are done. do everything offline until you actually restart after installing the chipset driver, then put both RAM sticks in slot A2 and B2 (that's slot 2 and 4), if you only have two RAM sticks, also you might need to reboot into BIOS after doing all this to set up your XMP profile (and use the settings you already did before). download any highlighted files first before starting step one, just follow the order exactly. run command prompt as administrator, then do chkdsk /x /f /r, after that run sfc /scannow and check if there is a Windows update available to install those (except for optional updates), make sure your power supply unit is correctly connected to the GPU using one PCIe cable per single slot (use the main power cable instead of the split branches or splits).
